Leah Gibson and Nathan Owens are joining the cast of Batwoman season 2 as they bring a new villain and potential do-gooder to Gotham City.

Batwoman season 2 will be a year of change for The CW show. The relatively new Arrowverse series will be led by a brand new hero as Javicia Leslie will be replacing Ruby Rose in the lead role. She won’t, however, be playing Kate Kane. Instead, she is joining the show as Ryan Wilder – a woman who uses the Batwoman mantle for her own reasons and ultimately finds a way to become Kate’s – and Batman’s – successor.

However, Leslie won’t be the only newcomer on the show as Shivaani Ghai has been cast as new villain Safiyah – the previously-teased threat who has a strange interest in Alice. And now, we can add two more newcomers to the list.

Batwoman season 2 gets more new faces

As revealed by Deadline, Leah Gibson has been cast in the role of Tatiana/The Whisper. This eerie new character will be a skilled assassin, unflappable and cold as ice in the face of danger. She’s also Safiyah’s right-hand woman and will reportedly harbor some feelings for her employer.

Meanwhile, Nathan Owens will also be playing a recurring role, showing up throughout the season as Ocean. A zen gardener who was formerly a loyal soldier, he arrives in Gotham City looking for a fresh new start (though why on earth would he pick Gotham to do so?).

It goes without saying that there’s a lot of anticipation for the second season of Batwoman as fans eagerly await the new era for the show. Though we haven’t seen Javicia Leslie’s suit yet, fans are excited for what she will bring to the role… and no doubt these new villains, along with previous villain Alice, will make for an entertaining new adventure.
