Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury to return to the MCU in new Disney Plus TV series
Samuel L. Jackson is set to reprise his role as Nick Fury in the MCU in a new Disney Plus Marvel TV series.
Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury has been a staple of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since it first kicked off all the way back in 2008. Originally an ally for Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark in Iron Man, he single-handedly oversaw S.H.I.E.L.D. and put together The Avengers. And after most recently appearing in Spider-Man: Far From Home, he is set to return as the character on Disney Plus.
According to Variety, there are plans in place for Jackson to reprise his role as Nick Fury in a Disney Plus TV series. Little is known about the project right now, but it has been reported that it will be produced by Marvel Studios and that Kyle Bradstreet will be writing it.
As fans will undoubtedly know, the MCU is in the midst of a post-Endgame shift. With Phase Four on the horizon, Marvel Studios has a number of Disney Plus TV shows in development, such as WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye and Moon Knight – the first of which is set to debut sometime in December of this year.

Fury has been used sparingly in recent years, appearing in less meatier roles in the major Avengers movies than before while having more of a significant role in films designed to give us the next generation of heroes such as Captain Marvel and the aforementioned Spider-Man sequel.
His latest appearance – which came in the latter – saw him in space, leaving many fans wondering if he was in the process of setting up Marvel Comics’ S.W.O.R.D.
This series would mark the first regular TV role of Jackson’s illustrious career. He did, however, portray Nick Fury on TV before, appearing in two episodes of Marvel’s long-running Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
