The first look at Javicia Leslie as Batwoman is here – and she looks amazing
Javicia Leslie will be taking over from Ruby Rose as the Scarlet Knight in Batwoman season 2 and now she has unveiled the first look at her in the Batsuit.
Batwoman season 2 remains high on a lot of people’s most eagerly-anticipated TV shows. While the Arrowverse show itself is a popular addition to the TV line-up, this season is particularly exciting because it will essentially serve as reboot for the show as Javicia Leslie will take over from Ruby Rose as the Scarlet Knight.
The news of Rose’s departure from the titular role caught a lot of people off-guard, especially as it came only two days after the season 1 finale aired on The CW. However, the showrunners announced that it would continue and that they would cast a new actress in the role.
Javicia Leslie was cast some weeks later and, ever since, fans have been waiting with excitement at the prospect of seeing her suit up in the legendary Batsuit. Now, Leslie herself has taken to social media to unveil the first look at her in the costume and it’s really quite something.
From the above image, it’s clear that she’s wearing the costume designed for Kate Kane – something she promises her character will change up at some point throughout the season.
On that note, Leslie won’t be replacing Rose as Kate Kane but will, in fact, be playing a new original character named Ryan Wilder, who takes up the Batwoman mantle in the aftermath of Kate’s vanishing.
It’s safe to say that she’s already doing the Scarlet Knight justice. And after that sneak peek, we’re even more excited to see Leslie in action in Batwoman season 2!
