The MCU’s Spider-Man movies could be on their way to Disney Plus
In an unexpected twist, we could see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man movies show up on Disney Plus sooner rather than later, and here’s why.
Disney+ is undoubtedly the premiere streaming device for fans of Marvel, Star Wars and Disney in general. It’s packed full of content to keep our hearts happy and offers plenty of escapism whenever you may need it. For the Marvel fans among us, that could be in the form of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies – most of which the service provides but it may be about to acquire some Spider-Man movies too.
As reported by ComicBook.com, an eagle-eyed viewer took to Reddit to acknowledge the fact that a recent Disney+ ad featured clips from Spider-Man: Far From Home – the second of the two MCU Spider-Man movies – which is quite peculiar when neither of them are on the platform.
Is Spider-Man coming to Disney Plus?
While Disney+ doesn’t have all 23 MCU movies, it’s the two Spidey offerings that are the most sought-after – both because of how popular Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is and because of how integral they are to the MCU’s overall narrative.

The reason that they’re absent is down to the fact that they were produced through Disney/Marvel’s deal with Sony – who still exclusively owns the film rights to the character. Due to that, it was understandable that neither of them ever surfaced on a streaming service owned by the former company.
Considering they likely needed the rights to feature clips from the film in an ad for their own service, there’s actually a pretty strong likelihood that Homecoming and Far From Home could show up on the streamer. After all, if they just wanted to promote Spider-Man, couldn’t they have just used a clip from Avengers: Infinity War or Endgame instead?
