8. Barry and Iris’ emotional (but temporary) farewell

Okay last sad one, right? Another moment just too majestic to leave off the list in spite of how upsetting it was, Barry and Iris’ parting in the season 3 finale of The Flash shines because of the power it boasts.

Candice Patton’s emotional “I wanted to be Iris West-Allen” cuts straight through to your heart, while Grant Gustin’s sombre-but-triumphant “And you always will be” is oddly calming because it proved that no matter where Barry went, Iris would always be in his heart.

The fact that Blake Neely’s Speed Force theme (made famous by the moment Iris helped Barry out of the Speed Force a season earlier) played as Barry returned to it was nothing short of cruel genius because it made the already-melancholic moment that much more powerful. Thankfully, not even the Speed Force could keep these two apart.

7. Barry and Iris’ wedding (the first one)

The moment we had all been waiting for, Barry and Iris made their vows to one another in front of their friends and family and it was only fitting that the Arrowverse’s premiere couple took center stage on the Arrowverse crossover between The FlashSupergirlArrow and Legends of Tomorrow.

Though their wedding would be interrupted (and then very poorly handled later in the crossover), it’s hard not to watch the moment that Iris walks down the aisle looking radiant as Barry tears up without tearing up yourself.

Everything about this, from Melissa Benoist’s beautiful performance of “Runnin’ Home To You” to the beautifully subtle way in which Gustin showcased Barry’s love for Iris with a single look, was pure perfection.
