Amazon’s The Boys: 6 things that may happen in the season 2 finale
By Mark Lynch
6. The Boys take Compound V
If you read The Boys comic book, you were probably sad that the team didn’t have powers. Sure, it made things more interesting because now, the team had a significant disadvantage. They couldn’t rely on super strength and durability to save them.
In the comic books, they usually ran through the supes with ease. They were more skilled and had power behind them to boot. This writer appreciated the creativity it took to go above and beyond that – to make them smarter instead of physically stronger. Now, look for them to get an upgrade to progress the show.
The concern was how they could get powers without it looking forced. We saw how this could happen in episode 6. When we saw that Stormfront was creating supes, the first thing that came to mind was that this is how The Boys could get their powers. In episode 7 of season 2, it ended with Butcher smiling. That means he has something devious planned. More than likely, he’s thinking of becoming something he hates.
If you’ve read the comic, you can see how this may play into how the series ends. There could also be another moment from the comic. Hughie won’t want to take the show, but Homelander will give it to him anyway.
