Supergirl returns to The CW for its sixth season in 2021. Here’s everything we know about Supergirl season 6.

Supergirl season 6 will bring about the end of an era as it will mark the end of the long-running Arrowverse series. Its fifth season concluded back in May after being cut short but fans are excited at the prospect of more heroics in what is now the final season.

Season 5 was packed full of conflict as Kara was forced to address her issues with Lena Luthor as her best friend spiralled further into darkness than ever before. As this happened, the team had to face the changes thrust upon them by Crisis On Infinite Earths, battle the ancient Leviathan and deal with Lex Luthor’s villainy. Though the season was cut short, answers will be at hand in season 6.

Below, you’ll find all the up-to-date information you need about Supergirl season 6, its premiere on The CW, its cast, any trailers and more.

Supergirl season 6 premiere date

Supergirl season 6 will premiere on The CW on Tuesday, March 30 at 9:00 p.m. It was initially expected to be held until summer but with spin-off Superman and Lois requiring a production break, the Girl of Steel has swooped in to save the day.

Supergirl would usually return to The CW for a new season in October. However, due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus significantly delaying production, that wasn’t the case this year.

Supergirl season 6 cast

As there weren’t any big deaths in the impromptu finale of Supergirl season 5, it’s highly likely that the vast majority of the cast will be returning for season 6.

Melissa Benoist will reprise her role as Kara Zor-El/Kara Danvers/Supergirl, as will Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor, Jesse Rath as Brainiac-5, Nicole Maines as Nia Nal/Dreamer, Azie Tesfai as Kelly Olsen, Andrea Brooks as Eve Teschmacher, Julie Gonzalo as Andrea Rojas, Staz Nair as William Dey and David Harewood as Martian Manhunter/J’onn J’onzz.

Jon Cryer will also be reprising his role as Lex Luthor. And as Supergirl season 6 is the final season for the show, expect to see some other familiar faces pop up throughout.

Supergirl season 6 trailer

The cast and crew of Supergirl have returned to Vancouver to resume production on the last few remaining episodes of season 5 and kick off season 6. As a result, there is no new footage and thus, there is no trailer as of yet. But with the show’s return on the horizon, expect a new trailer very, very soon.

In previous years, there would be a new trailer for Supergirl‘s upcoming season unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con but that just wasn’t possible this year.

Be sure to check back here when the trailer is released. In the meantime, revisit the previous season’s finale by reminding yourself what happened with its trailer.

What is Supergirl season 6 about?

Very little is known about Supergirl season 6’s plot as of this point, but the first couple of episodes will be devoted to wrapping up the storylines left unfinished by the unexpectedly abrupt season finale.

Moreover, as it is the final season, we should probably all expect a larger-than-life storyline to bring Kara Danvers’ journey as the Girl of Steel to an end.
