Fans are excited for the Scarlet Knight’s comeback on The CW, so here’s everything we know about Batwoman season 2.

Batwoman proved to be a major success for The CW last season. The latest Arrowverse series enjoyed strong ratings and positive reception from the fans and it scored an early season renewal.

With Kate Kane taking a stand against the evils of Gotham City in Batman’s absence, our attention now turns to what will be a very different Batwoman season 2.

Below, you’ll find all the up-to-date information you need about Batwoman season 2, its premiere on The CW, its cast, any trailers and more.

Batwoman season 2 premiere date

Batwoman season 2 will premiere on Sunday, January 17, at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Batwoman would normally air alongside the rest of its Arrowverse companions in the fall, premiering in October. However, due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, production on the show was shut down in Vancouver prior to the end of season 1 and has only recently been able to resume.

Batwoman season 2 cast

Batwoman season 2 will mostly feature the same primary cast as season 1, but it’s important to note that we will have a new Scarlet Knight, with Javicia Leslie taking over from Ruby Rose – who  departed back in May. Leslie won’t be playing Kate Kane and will, instead, play new character Ryan Wilder.

Rachel Skarsten will reprise her role as Alice/Beth Kane, as will Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore, Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton, Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox and Dougray Scott as Jacob Kane. Christina Wolfe will also return as Julia Pennyworth – though it’s unclear if it’s a regular or recurring capacity.

Joining them will be Shivani Ghai as the villainous Safiyah in a recurring role, while Leah Gibson, Nathan Owens and Alex Morf will respectively appear as The Whisper/Tatiana, Ocean and Victor Zsasz.

Batwoman season 2 trailer

Normally, the new trailers for the upcoming seasons of the Arrowverse shows would arrive during San Diego Comic-Con. That understandably wasn’t able to happen this year because of everything going on.

As the cast and crew of Batwoman have only recently returned to Vancouver to film the second season, there hasn’t been any full official trailer for season 2 released as of yet. There have, however, been two mini promos released with highlight Javicia Leslie’s Ryan Wilder and her evolution into the Scarlet Knight.

What is Batwoman season 2 about?

The actual plot details of Batwoman season 2 are being kept under wraps right now but it has been revealed that the show will deal with Kate Kane’s disappearance and the subsequent rise of a new Batwoman in Ryan Wilder.

Elsewhere, Alice will have her hands full with Safiyah as she also presumably processes Kate’s sudden absence – something that Team Batwoman and Jacob Kane will no doubt be attempting to understand as well.

Season 2 will mark the beginning of an exciting new era for Batwoman, that’s for sure!
