Riverdale star announces departure in emotional social media post

Riverdale star Skeet Ulrich has revealed that his time on Riverdale has come to an end in an emotional post on Instagram.

It’s the end of an era for Riverdale as F.P. Jones will be riding off into the TV sunset it seems. Actor Skeet Ulrich revealed earlier this year that he would be leaving the show in the midst of its fifth season and now Ulrich’s imminent departure has become a reality.

The actor has now taken to social media to share a heartfelt post about the end of his time on the show. In the photo, Ulrich is standing outdoors against headlights, showcasing his silhouette.

The actor added that the experience will never leave his heart because he made many lifelong friendships. He then thanked fans for all the love and support they have given him over the past four years.

End of an era in Riverdale season 5

Ulrich has been part of the show since the very beginning, portraying F.P. Jones – the father of the beloved Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) and on-again/off-again lover of Alice Cooper (Madchen Amick). F.P. underwent quite the journey throughout the course of the show, starting off as the leader of the Southside Serpents gang before overcoming adversity to become the Sheriff of Riverdale.

Ulrich wasn’t the only cast member to announce their departure earlier this year as Marisol Nichols – who portrays Hermione Lodge on the show – revealed that she too would be leaving The CW series. However, she soon followed that up to announce that she would actually return to the show, after all (though it’s not quite clear if that will be in a regular or recurring capacity).

One way or another, it’s the end of an era for Riverdale in season 5.
