4. Whale of a time
The Boys impaling a whale was one of the first scenes we saw before season 2 premiered. You’d figured seeing it again would lessen the shock. It didn’t. It was actually more horrific in the show. The Deep saying the whale’s name (Lucy) added a personal touch. Then, seeing The Boys exit the sea creature covered in its insides was an image no one will forget. It didn’t help when M.M. and Hughie were laying inside of the whale like a Tauntaun. And, yes, the whale probably smelled worse on the inside.
3. Ryan’s power
After Stormfront got her head stomped in, she made her way to Homelander and Ryan. She found Ryan, Rebecca, and Butcher trying to escape. While attempting to kill Rebecca, Ryan let loose a huge blast from his eyes. It resulted in his mother being killed and amputating Stormfront’s legs and arms.
It wasn’t the laser beam that was shocking. It was the result. Stormfront got exactly what she deserved. She wasn’t killed. She was left to live the rest of her life thinking about the heinous things she had done. Although, seeing Rebecca killed by her son was very sad. Butcher not killing Ryan was the biggest surprise. He already hates supes and just saw one of them kill his wife. If Ryan wasn’t Rebecca’s son, Butcher would probably have killed him without hesitating.
