12. Quentin Lance

If ever there was a tortured character on Arrow, it would have to be Quentin Lance. We are talking about a man with a true moral compass, determined to protect his city, even as he has to deal with not one, but two of his children dying. Seriously, this man has witnessed multiple deaths of people he cares about and yet he continues to stand strong as a man of the law and justice.

While the things he has had to face have to lead to problems with alcohol at times, that is not all that makes this man tick. Quentin is perhaps the most grounding character in the entire series, as he never really gets caught up in the vigilantism and mysticism of the series.

Beyond adding the realism that the series has always needed, Quentin’s journey with his children has acted as emotional high and low points that truly made this series so much more than a comic book superhero show.

Quentin Lance is a flawed character like everyone else and yet it is his flaws that help make him so likeable and real. (And can I just point out that Paul Blackthorne, the actor behind this character, is truly brilliant and is basically a master of the craft!) He is another one of those characters who deserves far more credit than he sometimes gets and while he didn’t break the top 10, it was definitely a close call.
