Thor: Ragnarok: Valkyrie

This was a tough one. How do you pick someone you wanted to see more of? Thor: Ragnarok was close to perfection.

Thor got a makeover. Something he desperately needed after his first two solo movies. Loki was incredible in a much smaller role than we’re used to seeing. Jeff Goldblum played the powerful Grandmaster, but he was more of comic relief than a cosmic powerhouse. And who didn’t love Korg and Miek? If you notice who’s missing then you know who deserved more screen time. Everyone’s favorite Aragorn riding, sword-swinging, ale drinking warrior.

Valkyrie was beloved as soon as she appeared on the screen. At first, it seemed like she was going to be yet another character there for jests rather than battle. Then, she picked herself up and scared everyone into submission, and captured Thor.

As the movie progressed, she became a deeper character. We learned about her past and understood why she was drinking herself into a haze. In the end, he helped Thor defeat Hela, move the Asgardians from danger, and solidified herself as one of the best characters in the MCU.  By the end of the movie, we wanted to see more. We got that in Avengers: Endgame and we will see her again in Thor: Love and Thunder.
