Superman and Lois: Premiere, release date, cast, trailer and more

The Man of Steel returns home to TV in The CW’s upcoming Superman and Lois series. With excitement higher than ever, here’s everything you need to know about it.

It’s been a long time coming, but Superman will finally get the chance to make his presence felt on the Arrowverse. The Man of Steel made an impression on viewers years ago and now he and his leading lady will take it to new heights in the much-anticipated Superman and Lois.

With Arrow having ended its run and Supergirl getting ready to depart, all eyes will eagerly fall on the new arrival to see if it can carry on the legacy set forth by both of those shows. And we don’t have to wait for much longer to find out.

Superman and Lois premiere date

Superman and Lois will premiere on February 23, 2021. It will air on Tuesday nights in the 9:00 p.m. slot, hitting screens just after Arrowverse staple The Flash.

Superman & Lois was initially expected to arrive on screens this fall. Unfortunately, the outbreak of the novel coronavirus prevented the pilot from shooting when it was supposed to and then delayed the typical summer return for The CW’s productions.

Superman and Lois will be led by Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth “Bitsie” Tulloch. The pair reprise their respective roles as Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane from Supergirl and various Arrowverse crossovers such as Elseworlds and Crisis On Infinite Earths.

The pair will be joined by Jordan Elsass and Alexander Garfin – who portray their sons Jonathan and Jordan Kent – and Dylan Walsh as General Sam Lane, Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang, Erik Valdez as Kyle Cushing, Wolé Parks as “The Stranger”, Inde Navarrette as Sarah Cushing and Adam Rayner as Morgan Edge.

As filming has only just begun on Superman and Lois, The CW have not been able to release a full-length trailer for the pilot of the show like they have for previous Arrowverse installments. Moreover, because of the production shutdown, they weren’t able to release any video footage at San Diego Comic-Con or DC FanDome.

They finally released the first teaser trailer for the show in December 2020.

What is Superman and Lois about?

Superman and Lois will be different from previous TV and film adaptations of the Man of Steel. For that matter, it will be different from all previous Arrowverse shows too.

Set in the Arrowverse, it will focus on Clark and Lois’ attempts to split the non-stop thrills of both the superhero/journalist life with the pressures and responsibilities of being parents to teenage sons.

While not much else is known about it right now, it also seems that it will be set in Smallville as opposed to Metropolis. That hasn’t been officially confirmed, but the above promo and the cast of characters suggests that it will be spending a significant amount of time in the Man of Steel’s hometown.
