What should happen?

Iris has spent a long time in that darn Mirrorverse and, quite frankly, it’s time she got out of it. In fact, it’s long past time she got out of it. In fact, she probably already would have been been out of it if production of the sixth season was able to finish.

On that note, the primary objective of The Flash season 7’s first few episodes – as far as Iris is concerned – must be to get her out of there. Barry is well aware of the fact that she’s trapped in there and she is also determined to find a way out – given all the pair have faced together, hopping dimensions shouldn’t be too impossible for them, right?

The West-Allens are the emotional core of The Flash and the story of keeping them apart worked as long as the focus was on that. Now that it’s been so long – their separation and fans’ wait for the show’s return – it’s time to reunite them once and for all.

Aside from WestAllen’s glorious reunion, the show should definitely continue on the trajectory it was on last season in terms of the character’s solo arc. As a reporter of the Central City Citizen, she thrived because that’s the kind of role she should have had from the beginning.

More reporting and sleuthing is definitely the way to go for Iris, and it would be nice to see the writers build upon the kinship she’s developed with Allegra and Kamilla. The important thing is to find a way to make it different so that it doesn’t feel too much like the previous season. Make it like season 6, but better.

Also, how about a team-up with Superman and Lois‘ Lois Lane?!

Iris is finally enjoying some long overdue spotlight, she must not lose it in season 7.
