Superman and Lois will take flight very soon and new set photos have given fans their first look at the Man of Steel’s new costume.

Superman and Lois is one of 2021’s most anticipated new shows. A new chapter of The CW’s Arrowverse saga, it focuses on the Man of Steel himself – who has been a recurring presence for nearly five years – and the Daily Planet’s intrepid reporter Lois Lane.

Tyler Hoechlin will reprise his role as Superman/Clark Kent while Elizabeth “Bitsie” Tulloch does the same as Lois. With fans already familiar with both of them, it’s safe to say we’re all excited to spend a lot more time in both Metropolis and Smallville.

One of the most eagerly-anticipated aspects of the new show is the fact that Superman himself will be getting a new suit. This is something that was confirmed by the producers during DC FanDome and it’s something that we’ve all been looking forward to seeing. However, we don’t have to wait much longer because new set photos from Canadagraphs have given us all a glimpse of the Man of Steel’s new threads.

More from Arrowverse

In the shots, we can see Hoechlin wearing the new suit  as he prepares to shoot a scene for Superman and Lois.

An all-blue body suit with the classic Superman insignia on the chest, it has more of a traditional Rebirth look about it than the previous outfit he wore on episodes of SupergirlThe FlashArrow and Batwoman. He isn’t wearing the cape in a number of shots – suggesting that those may be CGI-heavy scenes (for which they can add the cape in post-production) – but it does appear in others. By the looks of things, the cape is also connected to the neck of the costume in the more traditional way as the clips that held the previous cape (and now Supergirl’s cape) in place are nowhere to be seen.

It goes without saying that the suit looks great and we can’t wait to see Tyler Hoechlin look even more badass than before when Superman and Lois arrive on screens.
