The Boys: How would each character fare in the Marvel or DC Comics universes?
By Mark Lynch
Billy Butcher
Now we have the man of the hour, William “Billy” Butcher. The Boys’ leader and the guy who got this ball rolling. Would Butcher’s hatred for super-people lessen because not all of the heroes have an ulterior motive? Or would he still feel like he’d have to police them? Probably the latter. Butcher’s disdain for super-powered beings runs deeper than the Atlantic Ocean. It’s not possible that he’d end up in a different world and change his mind. He’s a stubborn man who wants to chew bubblegum and crush supes. And he’s all out of bubblegum.
*SPOILER WARNING: If you haven’t read all of The Boys comic book, do not read ahead.*
At the end of The Boys comic book series, Butcher attempted to kill anyone with Compound V in their system. It didn’t matter if they had powers or not. If they had even the potential, he wanted them dead – this included little kids that were unaware of what was in them. This wouldn’t change in the Marvel or DC Comics Universe. He would find a way to kill every super-being on the planet. If you put him in jail, he’d just escape. In the end, it would be Green Arrow or Wolverine that put him down for good.
