Javicia Leslie’s Dark Knight debuts in the first Batwoman season 2 trailer

Get your first live-action look at Javicia Leslie’s Ryan Wilder in the first Batwoman season 2 trailer.

Batwoman season 2 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated returning shows of the year. The Arrowverse show is set to return in January and fans have been incredibly excited to see what Gotham City has in store for all of the beloved characters this time around.

One thing they’ve been even more excited (and a little bit apprehensive) about is the introduction of the second Batwoman: Ryan Wilder. This character has been brought in as a replacement for Ruby Rose’s Kate Kane (after Rose departed the show back in May) and will be played by Javicia Leslie.

Fans got their first look at Leslie in costume in some official promo images which look nothing short of incredible, so things are definitely looking good for the show. However, The CW has now released a brand new promo for the second season, featuring our first live-action look at Leslie in the Batsuit. Check it out below.

Essentially a teaser for the show’s first season – all of which is currently available to stream for free on The CW website – the promo (which can be viewed here) closes out with a tease of “a whole new bat”. The final few seconds then feature Leslie’s Ryan Wilder lifting up the Batsuit before donning it to take on some thugs.

In a moment that pays tribute to Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, Batwoman appears upside down behind a thug and scares him with a playful “boo!”.

Needless to say, Javicia Leslie looks great in the role and we can’t wait to see her in action in Batwoman season 2.

Batwoman season 2 arrives on The CW on Sunday, January 17 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
