What problems would an X-Men TV show solve?

Before you say it, yes, more could have been explained if there was a sequel to The New Mutants. That being said, even a sequel would leave you with more questions than answers. Movies range from an hour and a half to around two hours. Even if you did two movies that were three hours a piece, that would still only equate to around six episodes of television. To put that into perspective, Season 1 of The Gifted had twelve episodes and still left things on the table. That alone shows that you aren’t going to get the full story in a movie involving the X-Men. Even the characters that aren’t as well-known deserve to be expounded on properly.

This is just with the New Mutants. We’ve already seen how easy it is to handle an X-Men movie poorly. Out of seven X-Men movies and three Wolverine solo movies, only three (maybe four) of them are universally enjoyed. That’s not a high percentage.

The X-Men should absolutely be in movies. It would be a disservice to Marvel’s Mightiest Mutants if they weren’t. That said, there is a way they can be part of the MCU and get their start on the small screen. Now that Disney Plus is producing Marvel TV shows, there’s more incentive to give the X-Men a place where they can grow and receive the positive positive reception they deserve. After giving them the same treatment as WandaVision, Loki and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier then we can bring the X-Men back to the theaters with open arms.
