Comic book project: The Losers

Some comic book movies don’t get the respect they deserve. This one is at the top of the list. The Losers has everything that people love about the MCU projects: The action sequences were superb and the comedy was incredible. They even had two MCU actors in the film in Zoe Saldana and Chris Evans. It also had a really entertaining villain. Nonetheless, it’s not shocking that the movie failed.

The Losers came out at a time where people were worried about superhero fatigue – which is funny considering it debuted in the beginning of the golden age of comic book projects. The movie studio missed out on a possible trilogy.

If you go back and watch The Losers, you’ll see how ahead of its time it was. It was like Guardians of the Galaxy without the aliens and the fantastic soundtrack: A comic book title that wasn’t well known, had a brilliant cast, fun chemistry, and unforgettable characters. It won’t be shocking if and when The Losers gets another shot. However, it probably won’t be in movie form and that’s understandable. This could be better served as a TV show – especially seeing how popular streaming platforms have become for comic book projects. The ability to do things slowly would serve this series well.
