Ahsoka Tano will be continuing her live-action journey in a spin-off Disney Plus series, starring Rosario Dawson as the Star Wars favorite.

After making her live-action debut on The Mandalorian Season 2, Ahsoka Tano is getting a show of her own. The fan-favorite character, who debuted in 2008’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars film, before becoming one of the main protagonists of the series of the same name, will headline Ahsoka, a new limited series from Disney Plus.

Rosario Dawson took on the live-action role of the former padawan on The Mandalorian, and she will be leading the solo series as well. The show will be set during the same time period as The Mandalorian, and written by Dave Filoni, the mastermind behind The Clone Wars. Filoni and Jon Favreau will also act as executive producers.

Ahsoka: What could the Star Wars show be about?

Ahsoka was introduced to Star Wars fans when she became Anakin Skywalker’s padawan. The character’s popularity saw her getting more screen time before she left the Jedi Order in The Clone Wars Season 5.

Ahsoka returned in the final season of the show—taking over as the season’s main character. We also saw that she later became part of the Rebellion from her brief appearances in Star Wars: Rebels.

Ahsoka Tano’s live-action debut hinted at her mission since the fall of the Empire. She’s on the search for Grand Admiral Thrawn, who was last seen being sucked into outer space along with young Jedi, Ezra Bridger.

It’s possible that Ahsoka, the show, will follow Ahsoka Tano as she tracks down clues to find Thrawn, and eventually rescue Ezra Bridger from wherever in the Force or space he has disappeared. Could we see her team up with the remaining Rebels, Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren, Zeb, Chopper, Kallus, and Rex?

Fans have been speculating that more of the Rebels characters will be making their live-action crossover in The Mandalorian, but perhaps Disney is saving them for Ahsoka.

The show could also draw on some elements of E.K. Johnston’s Star Wars book Ahsoka, which took place soon after Order 66, and charted how Ahsoka Tano coped with the aftermath of the death of all the Jedi.

Ahsoka will stream on Disney Plus. The Mandalorian Season 2 is currently streaming.
