1. Ben Lewis in The Christmas Setup

It didn’t take long for audiences to fall in love with the quirky and clever adult version of William Clayton when he was introduced in Arrow season 7 and the reason for that was Ben Lewis’ endearing performance. The young actor took a huge opportunity and gave us arguably the best character of the original 2040 flash-forwards (and we’re still hoping to see him reprise that role in Green Arrow and The Canaries!) so when fans heard that he would be leading a Christmas movie, the YASes rolled in quickly.

The Christmas Setup is without question the most important movie on this list. Yes, it’s a heartwarming tale about two old acquaintances falling in love in their home town during the magic of Christmas – and you can bet it has an absolute blast playing with all of the “seen it all before” conventions of countless Christmas movies before it – but what makes it so revolutionary is that it centers on the love between two men, highlighting that Hugo and Patrick’s story is as important and magical as all of the ones we’ve seen before. And to make things even better, it’s just one of a wave of LGBTQ holiday movies to surface this year!

The icing on the cake is the fact that Lewis and his real-life husband Blake Lee play Hugo and Patrick as their chemistry just makes the whole thing a delight. And delight really is the right word because The Christmas Setup is a festive delight that will leave you grinning from ear to ear as it reiterates that one important message that remains relevant in every season: Love is Love.
