8. The Joker

Jared Leto went all out for his take on the Joker in Suicide Squad but he didn’t count on the studio interfering, resulting in a terrible final cut of the film. What was seen in the movie looked like a well-intentioned and unique direction to take the character that unfortunately comes off as cheesy. The over the top antics feel like he is trying way too hard not to be compared to other Jokers, and it just felt very out of place and tacked on at the same time. Leto’s turn may not be the worst villain in the DCEU, but there is an argument to be made for him playing the worst Joker in a movie.

7. Doomsday

Doomsday can’t be faulted because of the fact that by the time he made his big-screen debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, audiences had already been forced to sit through two hours of a horrendous superhero film. While he does resemble a weird mashup of the awful CGI Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the poorly computer-generated Orc villain from The Hobbit, he did manage to give the trinity a run for their money. He was somewhat comic book accurate and deserved much better in terms of execution. Despite all of this, after the Martha debacle, nobody was going to enjoy anything, so Doomsday is clearly just a victim of circumstance. Hopefully, there is a place in the DCEU multiverse where a better version of the villain exists.
