7. Juggernaut is his own man

Comic book: Juggernaut No. 4 (of 5)

Juggernaut has been a villain for most of his time in Marvel Comics. In 2003, however, he became an X-Man and a hero. Eventually, Juggernaut went back to being a villain and a hero again during the Matthew Rosenberg run of Uncanny X-Men. During this series, the gem that gives him his power was ripped from his chest and Cain Marko was sent to another dimension. Now, he’s back with his powers looking to redeem himself. A place where he’ll thrive. Even bigger news is that he is no longer bound by the deity that gives him his powers.

Why is this important?

After leaving Cyttorak for good, Juggernaut said that his decisions will be his own whether they’re good or bad. This will become a major part of his personality going forward. Sometimes we’ll see Juggernaut robbing a bank or attacking Deadpool, other times he could be protecting or avenging innocent people – we saw the latter during Punisher Kill Crew.

Juggernaut isn’t a bad person. He’s a victim of abuse from his father that turned into misplaced anger. Eventually, Juggy realized he could be a better man. He still has his flaws, but he’s trying. The fact that he’s attempting to do better is the mark of a true hero. Hopefully he’ll be used as more than just a random goon in the future.
