4. Mystique

Marvel Comic: X-Men

In X-Men No. 6, we saw one of the reasons that Mystique joined the Quiet Council. First, there was a mission with a team of X-Men to destroy the Mother Mold (House of X issues No. 3 and 5) – a journey that concluded with her death. Thankfully, the Krakoan Resurrection Protocols brought her back to life.

After two more missions, however, Mystique made a demand. She wanted her wife Destiny brought back to life – something that Xavier has continued to put off. What Mystique doesn’t know is that Moira MacTaggert said that Destiny should never come back. But at the end of the issue we saw that Destiny knew this might happen. She told Mystique that they wouldn’t bring her back to burn Krakoa to the ground.

This happened in 2019. Since then, Mystique has been very quiet. She’s not the kind of person to sit idly by when she wants something, so don’t be surprised if she is concocting something. At some point she will get what she wants or do what her wife asked. Mystique doesn’t care that mutants are living peacefully in a utopia. Her only concern is what she wants. If it meant every mutant in the world died except her, Rogue, and Destiny, she’d happily burn Krakoa down. Mystique will try, but it’s doubtful she’ll succeed. She may end up exiled next to Creed. However, this could be her plan all along.
