When does Riverdale return for season 5?
The long-running CW series has been off-screens for a while, but when does Riverdale season 5 arrive?
It’s been a while since Riverdale has aired on TV screens. The Archie Comics-inspired series has been off the air since May after its fourth season reached an early conclusion following the production shut down caused by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. The show hasn’t aired a new episode since. That understandably leaves fans wondering when it will be back.
The show normally returns to screens in October but it wasn’t able to do so in 2020 because that was when production resumed. That said, we won’t have to wait much longer for it to make its presence felt for its fifth season.
When does Riverdale return for its new season?
Riverdale returns to The CW with its season 5 premiere, “Chapter Seventy-Seven: Climax”, on Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 8:00 p.m. ET. The show will air the remaining episodes that were planned for its fourth season to wrap up that storyline, kicking off with a special prom-themed episode, before a time-jump will be initiated a few episodes in, beginning what was supposed to be the beginning of the fifth season.
That’s for U.S. fans, of course, but how can you watch it if you don’t live in the U.S.?
When is season 5 of Riverdale coming to Netflix?
Riverdale season 5 will arrive on Netflix internationally the day after its broadcast on The CW. That means if you aren’t in the U.S., you can view the season 5 premiere as early as 8:00 a.m. GMT the next day. Each episode will then be added on a weekly basis in-line with their broadcast on The CW the night before.
If you do live in the U.S., however, Riverdale season 5 will be added to Netflix sometime after the season finale, when it will all be uploaded at once. It’s a bit of a wait for sure, but undoubtedly the bizarre stories that the show produces will be worth it.
