Rumor: Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones to make unexpected return in She-Hulk
Jessica Jones could be about to make her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Krysten Ritter is rumored to be appearing in Disney Plus’ She-Hulk series.
The first season of Netflix’s Jessica Jones is still widely regarded as one of the greatest live-action adaptations of a comic book character of the past decade. Starring Krysten Ritter in the lead role, it saw the Marvel character come to life in a gritty tale set within the Netflix’s continuity – the one we still aren’t sure actually belongs to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Ritter’s performance was praised by critics, as was the show’s unflinchingly dark portrayal of the character and her origins. However, like all of the Netflix Marvel shows, it was unfortunately canceled by the streaming service. And now, we’ve all been left wondering if any of The Defenders will return in the future.
According to a new rumor, Jones could be about to do it.
Is Jessica Jones returning in She-Hulk?
Insider Daniel Richtman has revealed that Krysten Ritter could be returning as Jessica Jones in Marvel’s upcoming She-Hulk series on Disney Plus.

While nothing has been confirmed by Marvel Studios as of yet, that wouldn’t be outside the realm of possibility. She-Hulk is a legal drama that would, of course, follow Jennifer Walters, a.k.a. She-Hulk, as she both deals with crime in the courtroom and as the revered Jade Giantess.
What makes this rumor all the more intriguing is that it comes directly after Jones’ fellow Netflix hero, Matt Murdock/Daredevil, is rumored to appear in upcoming MCU film Spider-Man 3 as star Charlie Cox’s name popped up in reports about the many familiar faces set to star in that film.
While Marvel has already regained the rights to Daredevil, they have to wait a little bit longer with Jessica because her show was one of the more recent offerings to stream on Netflix. It’s believed Marvel will regain the rights to Jessica Jones and The Punisher sometime in February 2021, making an appearance from the former character in She-Hulk a real possibility.
