Deadpool and Daredevil would have been in the Fantastic Four/X-Men film

While the film was rumoured to be titled X-Men vs Fantastic Four, the film would have featured more characters than just those of the titular teams. When discussing it with Kevin Smith, writer Zack Stentz mentioned that the film involved a multitude of Marvel characters owned by the studio at the time, including Deadpool and Daredevil.

"“It [the film] used the X-Men. It used the Fantastic Four. It used Daredevil. It used Deadpool. Daredevil was still at Fox at the time. We almost had Paul Greengrass directing it which would’ve been so cool but he had another project to do instead. It didn’t end up going but it was a script I was really proud of and it would’ve been really good.”"

Likely an attempt to compete with Marvel’s Avengers, the film would have featured a variety of different superheroes coming into conflict with each other over the Superhero Registration Act. While we do not know the specific details of the roles of Deadpool and Daredevil in the film, it would have been quite a spectacle to see all these characters come together in one big screen adventure.

Regardless, both characters have went on to have solid live action adaptations after the crossover film discussions led nowhere. Deadpool has featured in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, as well as his two beloved big screen adaptations led by Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with the Mouth. A third film is reportedly on the way as well, according to Reynolds.

Meanwhile, Daredevil has had a successful run on Netflix, with the Man Without Fear being featured in three seasons of his own series and a member of The Defenders in the crossover series. Rumors have also circulated that Charlie Cox’s portrayal of Daredevil will return in Spider-Man 3, now that the Daredevil’s rights have officially returned to Marvel Studios.
