5. More villains than just Sabretooth

When people think of Wolverine’s villains, Sabretooth is often the first name that comes to mind. It’s with good reason. Victor Creed has been tormenting Logan by committing all sorts of atrocities. He’s shown up to kill him on his birthday every year, killed women Logan has loved and has continuously dangled Logan’s past over his head. These are only a few of the many things he’s done to Logan. The Wolverine and Sabretooth rivalry is one of the premiere feuds in comic book history but that doesn’t mean it’s the only one we should see in the MCU.

Logan has never been short of villains. Among them are people like Lady Deathstrike – a woman whose hatred for him runs deeper than the ocean. Then there’s Omega Red who hates Logan for keeping something from him that could stabilize his body. Moreover, there’s also the newer characters like Mr. X and Gorgon – two guys who hate Logan because he beat them in combat. They’re all deadly, however, they all pale in comparison to Romulus.

Romulus has been pulling Logan’s strings since before Weapon X put metal in his body. If there’s going to be a villain that should haunt Wolverine throughout the MCU it’s him. In Wolverine Origins (the comic series), Romulus was a mysterious figure that we didn’t see until the timing was right. When we finally saw him, it was an incredible moment. This should be repeated in the MCU. An unseen villain controlling things from the shadows would be different than what we’re used to seeing from comic book projects. Plus, Romulus has a connection to Sabretooth and other Wolverine villains. Make him the main antagonist and the rest might follow.
