What does Riverdale season 5 have in store for Veronica Lodge?

Riverdale season 5 is almost upon us. The CW TV series has been off screens for nearly a year but it’s almost time for the beloved thriller to return as it’s back on TV screens from January 20.

The previous season was definitely a memorable one for all involved. It attempted to make its typical strangeness that bit more grounded, replacing Gargoyle Kings with old prep school mysteries. Those mysteries undoubtedly kept fans hooked throughout the majority of the season.

One character that didn’t find herself at the heart of the central mystery, however, was Veronica Lodge. As usual, she was smack down in the middle of the Lodge family drama as her father Hiram (and her sister Hermosa) tried to make life hard for her. But Ronnie being Ronnie wasn’t going to take it.

So what lies ahead for Riverdale’s youngest business woman in the upcoming fifth season? It’s sure going to be an even bigger year for everyone – what with that long-teased time-jump kicking off – but how will it affect Veronica?

Where we left off with Veronica in season 4

As we already discussed briefly, Veronica found herself back in the middle of the Lodge drama as Hiram was his typical villainous self. However, throughout the course of the season, Ronnie took every opportunity to prove herself – doing so time and again in convincing fashion.

That being said, she did seem to start bonding with Hiram and sister Hermosa – to an extent at least. This had a lot to do with Hiram’s apparent illness that is beginning to affect his life. And yet, there are questions there that remain unanswered.

In fact, there are a number of unsolved mysteries ahead of Riverdale season 5.
