Vision’s new super-speed powers

Wanda’s husband has displayed all sorts of powers over the years: flight, super-strength, intangibility, shape shifting, altering his own density, and even firing lasers from the Infinity Stone in his forehead. But until now, moving at speeds to rival The Flash wasn’t one of them. But do you know who did have super-speed? Quicksilver, who, as this episode reminds us, just also happens to be dead.

If Wanda did use her powers to recreate Vision, did she also incorporate some of her brother’s powers and personality into the mix? It certainly would explain why Vision seems more personable than he did when he was alive. It also cements the theory that what’s happening in Westview is Wanda trying to cope with loss, not just from Vision’s death but also Pietro’s. And Vision is now an amalgamation of her lover and her twin brother, then what she’s done is beyond messed up.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Marvel hasn’t suggested there is something disturbing and icky about Wanda and Pietro’s sibling relationship. Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch’s The Ultimates suggested that those versions of the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were as close as Game of Thrones’ Cersei and Jamie Lannister. Granted, WandaVision certainly won’t take things that far. But if what’s being hinted about Vision’s speed powers is any clue as to what’s happening, then Wanda’s certainly a Freudian Psychologist’s dream come true.
