Lady Shiva – HBO Max

Arguably DC’s greatest assassin, Lady Shiva, is an underused character ready for some screen-time. She has two different origins, but a film could merge the best of both worlds. Merging her history with Richard Dragon and David Cain could make for a great story.

After a night out with her boyfriend (David), Sandra discovers her sister’s body. With some help from her boyfriend, she learned Richard Dragon, a rival martial artist was responsible, or so she thought. During their battle, Sandra learned Richard was framed.

In a twist, Richard and Sandra learned that her boyfriend David Cain was the man behind the murder. They’d also learn David was part of a global organization, the League of Assassins – whose leader, Ra’s Al Ghul, wanted Shiva and thus ordered David to give her a push by killing her sister.

Richard would then get killed, and Sandra would be forced to join the league. Oh yeah, and she’d be pregnant with Cassandra Cain who we last saw in Birds of Prey. Boom! Imagine this as a martial arts film connecting to both a Ra’s Al Ghul movie and the aforementioned Birds of Prey.

An actress like Arden Cho – who did a fantastic job as Kira on Teen Wolf – could bring Lady Shiva to life with ease.
