DCEU: 8 DC characters who deserve their own film
Deathstroke – In Theaters
For years, DC fans wanted to see Deathstroke join the DCEU. Joe Manganiello made it happen when we got a glimpse of his version of Slade Wilson in Justice League. Allegedly there’s more to come with HBO Max’s Snyder Cut, but it shouldn’t stop there because he deserves more screen time as the character.
In 2017, rumors swirled about a potential Deathstroke solo film with Gareth Evans allegedly writing the script. Things haven’t taken off the way fans had hoped, but Hamda can still change that. Like Black Adam, Deathstroke is more of an anti-hero with a great story tailor-made for a movie.
Before becoming DC’s most-feared assassin, Slade served in the US Army at 16 after lying about his age. There is where he met his future wife Adeline Kane. Oh yeah, and he was the subject of a private organization’s desire to make super soldiers.
In DC Comics, Slade – with his newfound abilities – goes against the US Army’s authority. To save his former comrade, Slade became Deathstroke the Terminator. After being discharged, Slade became the greatest mercenary in DC Comics.
An amazing casting choice for Adeline Wilson would be Katheryn Winnick, but I digress. Deathstroke’s movie could be the start of something greater. Imagine a series following a dysfunctional, murderous family, Meet the Wilsons.
