The second episode of Riverdale season 5 is almost upon us and the promotional photos tease a heartbreaking announcement for one of the show’s families.

Riverdale season 5 is finally back on our TV screens. The CW’s beloved teen thriller returned last week with an eventful season premiere that promised dark days for the gang and all involved.

Carrying on the Auteur storyline from last season, Riverdale’s eerie videotape stalker found himself/herself under intense investigation from Jughead Jones and Betty Cooper as the detective duo aimed to track the videotaping assailant down and expose them to all of Riverdale. Their attempt to do so was unsuccessful but that didn’t stop them from attempting to enjoy a night of bliss as the prom. Of course, the Auteur had other plans.

On a night that shook Riverdale’s status quo to its core, the season 5 premiere of the show promised change for the show’s primary gang. However, with two more episodes before the show’s long-awaited time-jump, what lies ahead for the graduating students and their parents?

Ahead of the second episode, “Chapter Seventy-Eight: The Preppy Murders”, The CW has released some promotional photos that could give us an inkling into what’s on the horizon for the mind-bending mysteries of Riverdale.
