3. Dark days for Archie Andrews

Archie Andrews unexpectedly began dragging his feet in the Riverdale season 5 premiere as things in his life began to unravel. Not only did he lose a crucial boxing match against Katy Keene‘s K.O. Kelly, he randomly began showing something of a disinterest in his relationship with Veronica Lodge. And this caused the pair to seemingly prepare for a break-up as he was finally honest about his near-affair with Betty Cooper.

It’s clear that Archie is going through something of an emotional crisis – hence his rude behaviour to the recruiter who offered him a chance at redemption and his baffling decision to end his relationship with Veronica when Betty made it clear she had no intention of leaving her beloved Jughead over a mistake with Archie – and the released photos make it clearer that things are about to get tougher for Archie.

Both of the released photos of Archie feature him in something of an emotional state. Not only will he come to blows with Hiram Lodge over his betrayal of Veronica, he will also be forced to make a decision about the person responsible for the death of his father, the incomparable Fred Andrews.
