3. One last hurrah for the Lodges?

Hermione Lodge shook the dining room table to its very core last week when she announced that she was not only leaving her husband, the infamous Hiram Lodge, but that she’d be returning to New York to become a Real Housewife. I mean if that’s not the most Riverdale thing Riverdale has done this season, then honestly I don’t know what is.

Hermione and Hiram have been trapped in this toxic on-again/off-again marriage for who-knows-how-long, with the former staying to protect her daughter Veronica and attempt to keep her husband in line. However, it soon became apparent that Hermione herself wasn’t afraid of the corrupt as she equalled Hiram in many ways. And, in some strange twisted way, the toxic dynamic worked… until it didn’t.

This isn’t the first time that Riverdale has teased a split for this pair but it does seem to have more of an impact this time with the seven-year time-jump looming. With that in mind, expect one last hurrah for this odd power couple as they celebrate Veronica’s graduation by putting on a show of unity.

After graduation, however, who knows what awaits the Lodges. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what Hermione and Hiram have planned for the remainder of the season.
