Will John Krasinski make his MCU debut as Reed Richards in WandaVision? From the moment Marvel Studios reacquired the rights to the Fantastic Four from 20th Century Fox, fans have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the first family of Marvel and many have begun to question whether the wait might be nearly over!
In the fifth episode of WandaVision, Captain Monica Rambeau mentioned to astrophysicist Dr. Darcy Lewis and FBI Agent Jimmy Woo that she happens to know an aerospace engineer who could perhaps help them to solve the mysterious anomaly created by Wanda Maximoff.
Hoping to get some help, Monica reaches out to the unnamed contact and in episode six she heads out with Agent Woo to officially meet up with her guy seemingly setting the stage for her mysterious contact to make his debut.
Although there are countless engineers in the pages of Marvel Comics, could it be that Monica’s unnamed aerospace engineer contact just so happens to be Reed Richards of Fantastic Four fame, thus paving the way for frontrunner John Krasinski to officially step into the role?
Is John Krasinski making his MCU debut as Reed Richards in WandaVision?
As we’ve come to learn, nothing seems to be off the table when it comes to Disney’s tentpole Disney Plus originals.
No one ever expected The Mandalorian to be able to pull off one of the biggest surprises in recent television history with its surprise cameos from R2-D2 and Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker. Meanwhile, WandaVision has kept viewers on their toes week after week with surprise twists such as the introduction of Evan Peters as Pietro in a crossover few saw coming.
We also have to take into account that Elizabeth Olsen herself has teased she was really excited about a Mark Hamill-like cameo the show was able to pull off. Could this perhaps come in the form of John Krasinski making his MCU debut in the role of Reed Richards?
A surprise such as this would definitely be as equally unexpected as The Mandalorian‘s Luke Skywalker appearance and would do a terrific job of setting the stage for the Fantastic Four film we know is in development.
At this time, there has been no confirmation as to whether Krasinski is even attached to the role and because this is Marvel, it’s unlikely we’ll know for certain whether Marvel might have an ace up their sleeve. One that is certain, fans definitely are excited about the idea of Krasinski making his MCU debut in the role as the payoff to Monica’s many engineer pal teases!
Would you like to see John Krasinski join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Reed Richards and do you think Marvel might consider introducing the character during an upcoming episode of WandaVision?
