This Sunday, a new episode of Batwoman season 2 airs on The CW. The Arrowverse series returned for its second season last month and now it’s back with a brand new offering.
The second season of Batwoman has introduced multiple new players. The most important of them, however, is undoubtedly the new Scarlet Knight herself Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie).
Having obtained Kate Kane’s Batsuit by accident, Ryan ended up finding herself entangled in all of Kate’s problems. However, with her own motivations driving her, she decided to step up and become the hero that Gotham needed in the absence of both Batman and Batwoman.

The previous installment highlighted that Ryan was so much more than a substitute or a replacement for Kate. Still learning how to be a superhero, she struggled holding onto Kate’s identity in the beginning. However, she soon learned that she didn’t need to be Kate or anyone else for that matter.
In the end, she became her own Batwoman, adopting a new look more in-line with what she wanted. She then battled Batman villain Victor Zsasz and defeated him, putting Gotham on notice as she let the world know that there is a new Bat in town.
