WandaVision: 5 burning questions for Episode 8
4. Has Monica officially become Spectrum?
Monica Rambeau has championed a peaceful solution to the Westview anomaly since she was expelled from the Hex by Wanda herself. Sensing the Scarlet Witch’s grief and relating to that, she has made it her mission – along with Jimmy Woo and Darcy Lewis – to reach Wanda before S.W.O.R.D. Director Hayward does.
Monica finally made that happen this week when she walked through the Hex (after the heavy-duty space rover failed) but, in doing so, her altered DNA got, well, a little more altered. With the Hex having something of a separating effect on her, Monica was pieced back together with glowing blue eyes and the ability to see things on different spectrums. She also showed Wanda that she was capable of standing against her if it came to that.
With all that in mind, has Monica officially followed in her comic book footsteps and become Spectrum, or is this only the beginning of the future Captain Marvel’s evolution?
3. What happened to Tommy and Billy?
Upon seeing that Wanda was struggling (or, more appropriately: vulnerable), Agnes stepped in to “take care” of her kids, Tommy and Billy. Though the twins shared a seemingly nice moment with “aunty Agnes”, the episode took a turn when Wanda found herself at her neighbor’s house and couldn’t locate Tommy and Billy.
Upon revealing her true identity, Agatha claimed that the superhero pair were probably playing in the basement, but when Wanda went down to retrieve them, they were nowhere to be seen.
In the comics, Wiccan and Speed are fragments of Mephisto’s soul, so could the MCU follow the source material. Is that how Agatha was able to make them vanish? If not, what has she done with them? No doubt their mother, the Scarlet Witch herself, will get answers – and hopefully find a way to save them.
