Moonstone

This writer has said in the past how Moonstone should be Captain Marvel’s next villain. She’s almost as strong as Captain Marvel and has energy blasts that equal hers as well. This is on top of her ability to go intangible. Karla Sofen has a connection to Carol as well, drawing her powers from a Kree stone.

Having her steal the power from a Kree like she did in the comics would absolutely work in live-action. All of that makes her an amazing pick to fight Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel 2. There are some elements of her character that may be too much for a PG-13 audience but the MCU knows exactly how to adapt stories for different audiences, so they could definitely bring Moonstone to the screen.

Ripley Ryan (Star)

Ripley Ryan was a reporter that ended up being transported to an alternate reality with Carol Danvers. After helping Carol, Jessica Drew, Rogue, and others escape, Ripley was scarred. When Kree scientist Minn-Erva launched a campaign to ruin Carol, she experimented on Ripley. She had an implant that allowed her to siphon power from Captain Marvel. Now named Star, Ripley became a hero to the public. Realistically, she was attempting to take Carol’s place.

Star said she learned a lesson after her time in the other dimension. She told Carol, “If you’re not strong, then you’re weak, and if you’re weak, you’re a victim.” We don’t need Carol to visit an alternate dimension for Zawe Ashton to play Star in the MCU. She could be another person caught in the shenanigans caused by Captain Marvel saving the day. Cliché, but it’ll work if it’s done properly. Since Minn-Erva is involved, this gives a connection to the first Captain Marvel.
