30 of Deadpool’s best and ridiculous comic book moments to celebrate the Merc with a Mouth’s 30 year anniversary.
Looking back at Deadpool’s life, it’s funny to see how far he’s come. Originally, just a spoof of DC’s Deathstroke, Slade Wilson few thought he would turn into one of the most popular characters of all time. Yet, here we are thirty years later and nobody is laughing… well, not at him anyway. Deadpool went from being a character some considered a “joke” to the one laughing – a pop culture phenomenon that has grossed millions at the box office and probably more in merchandise.
His evolution from being a mercenary who’ll kill anyone to a hero was a rough road. Nonetheless, it was worth it. We’ve seen him save the universe when no one knew about it, annoy major heroes, villains, and literal gods with little effort, and, maybe most importantly, Wade Wilson has entertained us for 30 short years.
Deadpool turns 30!
It’s hard to believe that Deadpool has been around for three decades. Some comic book characters take decades to get off the ground – let alone get their own film franchise – but Deadpool has been a beloved fixture of Marvel Comics for a long time. Fans wanted him to have one after his first ten years in Marvel Comics and not just because he was funny! His humor was one thing, but he became a relatable character with a lot of layers.
Since it’s Deadpool’s 30th anniversary, it seemed appropriate to show some love to the Merc with a Mouth. Instead of a few, this writer is giving you 30 of Deadpool’s best moments. With the exception of the number one spot, there is no particular order to the list because all 30 of these moments are excellent.
