Carol Danvers spent a lot of time under the Kree. She didn’t know who she was before her time with them. Because of this, she was all for the Kree way. Anything they asked Carol to do, she did. All she had from her time on Earth were a few memories. Carol makes her way to Earth and all of that changes. The events that follow help her regain her memory and realize that the Kree are the real villains here.
The final fight between Carol and Yon-Rogg is about to happen. Yon-Rogg gives the typical antagonist speech about how they need to fight hand-to-hand. That’s the only way that she (Carol) can prove her worthiness. Carol just shoots him with her energy blasts. She walks over to her fallen foe and says, “I have nothing to prove to you.”
When Carol blasted Yon-Rogg, the theater erupted with laughter. When she dropped the line, they cheered. It was one of the best and most hilarious fights in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and a big moment for Captain Marvel and her fans. Carol showed the world that she doesn’t need anyone’s approval. Let alone selfish beings who only look to oppress or destroy beings they disagree with.
