It had been five years since Thanos changed the universe. Lives were ruined all over the galaxy and there was nothing the heroes could do. Some of them kept on fighting the good fight. Others looked for the good in the new world. There were also the unfortunate beings who couldn’t deal with what happened. It leads them down a path of depression.
A fortuitous moment causes all of that to change. It sparked hope in Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. The chances the plan would work were slim. Thankfully, Steve Rogers was there to deliver a speech to make everyone believe they could succeed.
If anyone is going to make you believe in yourself or a cause, it’s Captain America. Steve Rogers doesn’t need hundred dollar words to get his point across. He just has to be himself. He let everyone know the gravity of the situation and to look out for each other. The speech was intense enough as it was. Then, he says, “This is the fight of our lives and we’re gonna win.” Tony Stark looks at him with a smile. Steve looks back at him and says, “Whatever it takes.”
You couldn’t help but feel that moment. Stark and Rogers were at each other’s throats at the end of Captain America: Civil War and during the beginning of this movie. Them sharing that moment and line added the perfect punctuation mark to this scene. It was the moment where we knew everything in the past was water under the bridge. It was brilliantly done.
