5. Agatha Harkness’ WandaVision Origins

The penultimate episode opens with a scene based in 1693, where Agatha is essentially put on trail and found guilty by a number of witches (including her own mother) for using dark magic. As Agatha pleads, the witches attempt to take her down with their magical powers.

However, as it turns out Agatha’s dark magic is so powerful that it is able save the evil witch from being killed at the stake, as she drains the life force of all the witches and is left as the last witch standing.

This quick glimpse into the origin of Agatha showcases just how powerful a foe Wanda is up against, while showing us a side of Agatha that has not been showcased throughout the series as of yet. Seeing her so frightened was unusual for a character that has always been portrayed as so confident but it highlighted how much she had evolved over the centuries of using witchcraft.

It seems at this stage Agatha was a novice witch, so she has had over 300 years to develop her craft, making her a deadly threat for Wanda to deal with. A glimpse into Agatha’s origins was very cool to see, so fingers crossed fans get another chance to see some of Agatha’s past.
