WandaVision might have brought an end to one arc in the Scarlet Witch’s story in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Elizabeth Olsen will return for at least one more MCU project.

After taking a backseat for far too long, Elizabeth Olsen finally had the chance to dive deeper into the character of Wanda Maximoff with the Disney+ original series WandaVision.

Across the show’s nine-episode season, viewers not only had the opportunity to see what happened to Wanda after Thanos was defeated but we were treated to a rich deep dive into the character’s origins — beyond those which unfolded in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Without spoiling anything for viewers who have yet to watch, it’s also safe to say that the series managed to also do a nice job of also further developing the character leading to a game-changing final act in the season finale.

While the final episode of WandaVision provided closure to many storylines introduced throughout the season, there were also many loose ends left unanswered. Chief among them being what’s next for Wanda in the MCU.

Will Elizabeth Olsen be in Doctor Strange 2?

Although it appears there are currently no plans for a second season of WandaVisionElizabeth Olsen will return as Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch within the Marvel Cinematic Universe in at least one additional film.

As confirmed by Marvel mastermind Kevin Feige, Olsen will next reprise the role of Wanda Maximoff in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. While we know Olsen will be back for Doctor Strange 2, what remains uncertain is whether she might make any additional appearances in the titles leading up to the film as Marvel, of course, has a handful of projects slated to release on March 25, 2022.

It’s also unclear how big of a role Olsen might have beyond Doctor Strange 2. Although she’s been playing the character for several years, it seems like we’ve only just scratched the surface of the character’s rich history and potential so here’s hoping Marvel will find additional ways to bring Olsen into the fold beyond 2022’s Doctor Strange 2.
