Who is the best character from Avengers: Age of Ultron?
Marvel character: Wanda Maximoff
Like Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, Avengers: Age of Ultron was looked at as one of the MCU’s weaker movies. Was Ultron a step up or close to the villain Loki was? No, but who is? Other than that, this was a fun movie.
Both Wanda and Vision debuted here. And, because of WandaVision’s success, people are going back and watching Avengers: Age of Ultron again. Hopefully, they’re seeing some things they may not have noticed like the interactions with Bruce and Natasha weren’t as forced as people thought. Or how this movie started the tension between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers.
It would be easy to pick one of the established Avengers as the greatest here, but it’s clearly Wanda. It has nothing to do with her current character in WandaVision and everything to do with her being amazing here. She was the only villain to put the Avengers on their heels. Ultron couldn’t be a standalone villain here. If Wanda hadn’t got into the heads of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, this fight would have been over in half the time.
Thor is a good example of Wanda’s power. He thought being a god made him immune to her powers. He discovered how wrong he was. In fact, without her getting in his head, he wouldn’t have gone back to Asgard. Meaning Hela would have ruled and who knows what would have happened when Thanos came to get the Infinity Stone.
