Who is the best character from Ant-Man?

Marvel character: Scott Lang/Ant-Man

The character of Ant-Man wasn’t something that people were impatiently waiting for. Who cares about a guy that can shrink and talk to ants? It’s not exactly a power that people wish for. How did Marvel Studios turn all of that around? They pulled a Chris Pratt. Marvel cast an unlikely but lovable actor to play Scott Lang. Paul Rudd was brought in and did a better job than anyone would have expected.

People didn’t look at Paul Rudd as the action hero. The closest he came to that was his fight scenes in Anchorman. Not something that screams MCU hero. Marvel kept Rudd within his lane. Scott Lang didn’t do anything that seemed out of the realm of his training. We saw that he was tough in the very first scene. That doesn’t mean he should be thrown into a superhero fight right after prison.

As the movie continued, his fighting got better. It was the best way to make certain that the audience wasn’t annoyed with his improvement.

Flat out, this movie doesn’t work without him. Going forward, Evangeline Lilly (Hope van Dyne) can star in her own movie. If you thought people didn’t care about Ant-Man, they doubly don’t care about the Wasp. She has the Wasp sting and can fly on her own, but she’s still not a comic character people were looking for. Paul Rudd coming in helped bring attention to her greatness.  Plus, Janet and Hank Pym training Scott training were entertaining.

Honorable mention: Janet van Dyne
