This was the last Marvel Cinematic Universe movie we received. Thankfully, it was a good one. Peter Parker was going to get away, spend some time with MJ, and tell her how he felt. That was his plan. The real goal was created by Nick Fury (who we find out is a Skrull) and a visitor from another reality named Quentin Beck (who wasn’t from another Earth).

Spider-Man was easily the draw of this movie. He’s the one with the cool costume, quips, and powers. He’s the reason he and his class went to Europe. However, in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter Parker was the focus. A smart idea from the creative team.

It wasn’t Spider-Man that had to overcome the loss of Tony Stark, it was Peter. Spider-Man wasn’t trying to date MJ. That was Peter as well. Not seeing Peter in the costume so much was important. Peter’s classic “Parker Luck” helped make him who he is. A popular comic book character without peer. Without it, he’s not that special.

There’s his awkwardness as well. Watching him squirm when approached about his secret identity with MJ is part of why he’s relatable. We could all see ourselves acting the same way he does. Tom Holland continued to show why he’s the best Peter Parker and Spider-Man to date.
