Who is the best character from The Incredible Hulk?

Marvel character: General Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross

It’s funny that people love the Hulk, but not the movies. If people go back and watch The Incredible Hulk, they’ll enjoy it more than they remember.

Edward Norton’s version highlighted a lot of things that we wondered about. For example, how did Bruce Banner get his clothes after he Hulked out? We saw him beg for money and bargain for stretchy pants. As phenomenal as he was, it wasn’t Bruce Banner or the Hulk that this writer looks at as the greatest character. That nod goes to General Thaddeus E. “Thunderbolt” Ross.

This is one of the few examples on here where the lead isn’t the best character. General Ross played an obsessive father and military man. He was also the first villain MCU we received that was actually good. He was easy to hate. He was going after someone who just wanted to be left alone. It didn’t help that his bias may have stemmed from Bruce being with his daughter Betty. Either way, this movie isn’t remotely good without him.

Think about it. Edward Norton needed someone to go up against that wasn’t just strong. General Ross provided that. There wouldn’t be an Emil Blonsky without him either. This was Ross’ MCU debut and he continued his amazing performances every time we saw him. Hopefully, he sticks around to become the Red Hulk.

Honorable mention: Bruce Banner
