Ruby Rose has commented on whether she would be open to a return to the role of Kate Kane on Batwoman.

Ruby Rose famously departed The CW’s Batwoman after only appearing as Kate Kane/Batwoman for a single season. After much uncertainty about the future of the Arrowverse show, it was revealed that Javicia Leslie would be taking up the mantle of the Scarlet Knight as a new character named Ryan Wilder in the second season.

In an interview with ComicBookMovie revolving around her new film SAS: Red Notice, Rose discussed whether she would be open for a return to the role. Her answer is a positive one for fans of the character.

"“I would totally do it. I don’t think it would serve the story because I think building the new Batwoman is more important than going back too far into Kate Kane, but of course I would, I would absolutely do anything they wanted as far as that [Laughs]. I haven’t watched the whole thing, but I’ve watched a couple of episodes, and I think how they’re handling it is beautiful. I think it’s her time to shine.”"

Will Ruby Rose ever return as Kate Kane in Batwoman?

Ruby Rose’s comments certainly indicate that she would return to the show if it fit the story, as the focus has now shifted to the new character of Ryan Wilder. With that in mind, the writers could certainly find a way to bring Rose’s Kate Kane back into the fold, especially since her fate is left ambiguous in the season 2 premiere and beyond.

More from Arrowverse

Javicia Leslie has been absolutely killing it as Batwoman and while it may not serve the story to have Kate Kane return so soon into Ryan’s debut year, seeing the two Batwomen together at some point during the show’s run would definitely be a sight to behold for all fans of the series.

As season 2 rolls on and Ryan Wilder continues to engage audiences with her story, anything is possible for the future of the series.

Batwoman season 2 airs on The CW on Sunday nights at 8:00 p.m. ET.
