This Friday, the premiere episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier arrives on Disney Plus. One of this year’s most-anticipated premieres, it continues the next chapter for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Marvel Studios struck gold with WandaVision. The very first show produced by the movie studio, it was set within the MCU and furthered the stories of Wanda Maximoff and Vision. It also launched the MCU’s fourth phase, starting it on a high. That phase now continues with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier – the show that was initially supposed to be the first of Phase Four.

With Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprising their roles from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Sam Wilson/Falcon and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, the show will see the heroes return to action after Avengers: Endgame. The pair will set out to honor Captain America’s legacy as Sam seeks to follow in Steve Rogers’ footsteps as the next Star-Spangled Man and both he and Bucky take down any threats they encounter along the way.
While WandaVision was inherently different to what fans had seen before, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier looks to be recognizable MCU in all the best ways.
